‘You’ve all been poisoned,’ man yells on United Airlines flight

NEW YORK--The FBI and other law enforcement officials met a United Airlines jet at Newark’s international airport Monday after a passenger became disruptive during a nearly 15-hour flight and yelled that everyone on board had been poisoned.

Flight 116, which left Hong Kong at 10:25 a.m. local time, landed shortly after 1:30 p.m. Eastern in Newark, where agents were waiting. Footage from news helicopters showed officials leaving the jet with a man who was subsequently put into the back of an emergency medical services vehicle on a stretcher.

An FBI spokesman said in a brief telephone interview that there was no indication anyone on board had been poisoned.

“We’re all being poisoned! You’ve all been poisoned!” the man yelled sometime during the journey, according to various media reports and the FBI. The Star-Ledger of Newark said other passengers restrained the man, who was not immediately identified.
