Free flu shots at senior group’s health expo

Laguna Beach Seniors will offer free flu shots Nov. 6 at its fifth annual clinic and health expo, in partnership with Mission Hospital, at the Laguna Beach Community & Susi Q Center.
Seniors covered by Medicare or private insurance are encouraged to visit their physician or a pharmacy to receive their vaccine.
The health expo will feature 27 organizations or groups, including South Coast Hearing Specialists, LivHome, Massage by Anika, Generations Healthcare, National Center on Elder Abuse, Adult Protective Services and Monarch Healthcare.
Kathleen Wenger, a marriage family therapist who leads the center’s mental health program, will provide information about free one-on-one counseling through the Feeling the Blues program, along with caregiver and grief-and-loss support groups.
Free hearing screenings will also be available. Flu shots, screenings and services are first-come, first-served.
The clinic is from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Susi Q, 380 Third St., Laguna Beach.
