Readers React: No logic in CVS’ strategy

To the editor: Well, it seems that the fictional symbol of greed — Gordon Gekko — is alive and well, in the person of the CEO of CVS Caremark. So the best employees have exceeded the top of their jobs’ wage ranges. Great, fire them and hire two minimum-wage people to stock the shelves and be the face of CVS to its customers. The buying public is used to little or no service, so it won’t hurt the bottom line — and its CEO will be in line for another 26% increase next year.
