Gov. Jerry Brown, who will travel to Paris in December for an international summit on climate change, spoke in La Jolla on Tuesday at an event hosted by the University of California.

The occasion was an opportunity to talk about the university system's plan to become carbon neutral by 2025 and about ways the state's environmental policies might be applied in other places around the world.

Times political reporter Chris Megerian tweeted live from the event.
