Ted Cruz dismissed Donald Trump's conservative beliefs this week as "New York values" amid the Republican front-runners' escalating attacks on each other. Not surprisingly, the moderators of Thursday night's Republican debate asked Cruz to define the phrase.
"Everyone understands that the values in New York City are socially liberal or pro-abortion or pro-gay marriage. Not a lot of conservatives come out of Manhattan," Cruz said.
It didn't take long for New York's elected officials, residents and fans to interject with their own #NewYorkValues.
The conversation has been trending nationally throughout the day.
