Laguna Beach accepting grant applications to help fund projects

Share

Laguna Beach is accepting applications from nonprofits and public-sector organizations for Community Assistance grants.

The grant program helps organizations in funding new projects or expanding existing services within the community.

City staff will make grant recommendations by June, when the City Council reviews and eventually awards money as part of its 2016-17 budget hearing. The council awarded $235,000 in grants for the 2015-16 fiscal year.

Applications can be downloaded from the city’s website at lagunabeachcity.net/cityhall/community/grants and must be mailed or hand-delivered to the city’s Community Development Department, at 515 Forest Ave., by 5 p.m. Feb. 26.

Arts organizations may also apply for Cultural Arts funding grants — which is separate from the Community Assistance program — for art events occurring within the city.

For more information, visit lagunabeachcity.net.slideroom.com or contact Cultural Arts Manager Sian Poeschl at (949) 497-0727. Applications must be submitted online by Feb. 1.
