Workshop to focus on historic preservation

Share

The city will host an informational workshop Monday on incentives for historic preservation in Laguna Beach.

The Heritage Committee will sit in on the two-hour session, one in a series of workshops designed to give them input from both staff and the public as Laguna edits its historic preservation ordinance.

Homeowners who maintain or rehabilitate a structure’s historic character could be eligible for certain incentives such as waived building and permit fees and property tax breaks, according to a news release.

Other incentives will also be discussed during the workshop held from 7 to 9 p.m. at City Hall at 505 Forest Ave.

Future workshops will address characteristics of a historic structure and whether the city will allow homeowners to opt their houses off a list deemed to possess historical character.
