Fire burns attic, roof of Huntington Beach home
A fire charred the attic and roof of a Huntington Beach house Wednesday night, authorities said.
Crews were called to the 6400 block of Weber Circle around 10:10 p.m., fire officials said.
The homeowner discovered the fire outside and tried to put it out with a garden hose but couldn’t stop it from spreading to the home’s eaves and attic, said Huntington Beach fire Battalion Chief Jeff Lopez.
Firefighters quickly controlled the blaze, which caused about $150,000 in damage, Lopez said. That includes heavy damage to the roof and significant smoke and water damage to the living room and kitchen, he said.
No one was injured, Lopez said.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire, he said.
