Around Town: Wine-tasting party to benefit literacy program

Literacy Volunteers of the Huntington Beach Public Library will present “Wine & Words,” an annual wine-tasting event to support the group’s literacy program. The event is from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort, 21100 Pacific Coast Hwy., and includes hors d’oeuvres, cookies, a silent auction, prize drawings and an appearance by local author Chris Epting.

Therapeutic Riding Center marks 25 years at festival Sunday
The Therapeutic Riding Center of Huntington Beach will celebrate its 25th anniversary at its Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center, 18381 Goldenwest St.
Games, pumpkin judging, a costume parade with horses, and a riding center tour and demonstration will be part of the festivities, which are open to the public.
The Therapeutic Riding Center provides horse-related activities for people with physical and developmental disabilities.
