2 vehicle burglary suspects arrested in Fountain Valley

Two Santa Ana men were arrested Monday after a vehicle burglary in Fountain Valley.

Daniel Vasquez, 19, and Ignacio Martinez, 21, were booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of burglary, grand theft and receiving stolen property.

Vasquez’s bail was set at $50,000, Martinez’s at $85,000, Fountain Valley police said.

Officers responded to the area of Mount Gustin Street and Berg River Circle at about 5:22 a.m. after a report of a vehicle burglary in progress.

Authorities said Vasquez was seen running from the scene by himself and was taken into custody and searched. Police said they found several items on him and in his vehicle that did not belong to him, including items they believe are connected to other burglaries reported that morning.

A Fountain Valley police dog helped officers find Martinez, who was hiding beside a house, police said.
