AT THE PLATE: The Angels had 12 hits, two each by Erick Aybar and Taylor Featherston, and Albert Pujols hit a home run for the third time in five games. Mike Trout tripled in a run in the third inning, running his hitting streak to nine games, then scored, upping his team-leading totals to 13 runs scored and 13 driven in. Trout has failed to get a hit in only two of 14 games this spring, and in one of those he batted only once.

ON THE MOUND: It was a rough day for four of the six pitchers the Angels used Tuesday. Starter Andrew Heaney gave up two home runs in the fifth inning and was lifted. Huston Street committed two throwing errors on consecutive plays in the sixth, which led to a run. And Matt Lindstrom and Kurt Spomer got pounded for 10 runs and nine hits in the seventh inning. Only Ryan Mattheus, who retired the only man he faced, and Trevor Gott, who pitched a hitless ninth, did not give up a run.
