KEY MOMENT: Justin Turner drove in the only run in the eighth inning, when he singled to left field off Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright with one out and men on the corners.

AT THE PLATE: The Dodgers were hitless against Wainwright for the first five innings. Wainwright’s no-hitter was broken up on a sixth-inning leadoff single by Miguel Rojas. The Dodgers had men on first and second base with one out in that inning, but Yasiel Puig ended the threat by grounding into a double play.

ON THE MOUND: Josh Beckett kept pace with Wainwright by tossing seven shutout innings. Setup man Brian Wilson pitched a scoreless eighth inning on his bobblehead night. Kenley Jansen preserved the 1-0 lead and earned his 24th save.

ROSTER MOVES: Third baseman Juan Uribe was activated from the 15-day disabled list. Uribe was sidelined for more than a month with a strained right hamstring. On a recent five-game rehabilitation assignment with Class-A Rancho Cucamonga, he hit .316 (six for 19) with three runs batted in, four runs scored and two doubles. Manager Don Mattingly said he would carefully monitor Uribe’s workload in the coming weeks. “He’s fired up to get back out there and be in there every day, but we’re going to blend him in slowly and make sure he doesn’t have a setback,” Mattingly said. On days Uribe doesn’t start, Turner probably will. To clear a roster spot for Uribe, the Dodgers optioned infielder Carlos Triunfel to triple-A Albuquerque.

MEDICAL REPORT: Hanley Ramirez remained sidelined, but there is no structural damage in the shortstop’s irritated right shoulder, according to a MRI exam he underwent. Ramirez is listed as day-to-day and will continue his hitting and throwing programs. … Chad Billingsley underwent an operation Tuesday to repair a torn flexor tendon in his right elbow. Billingsley is expected to be sidelined for eight months.

MOVING ON: Catcher Miguel Olivo, who was released by the Dodgers last month, has signed with the Toros de Tijuana of the Mexican league. Olivo was playing for triple-A Albuquerque when he bit off a significant piece of teammate Alex Guerrero’s ear in a dugout fight. Guerrero had the detached piece of his ear surgically reattached, but hasn’t resumed playing.
