AT THE PLATE: Starting pitcher Dan Haren helped his own cause by driving in the go-ahead runs with a bases-clearing double in the fourth inning. The three runs driven in by Haren moved the Dodgers in front, 6-3. Dee Gordon hit a two-run home run in the third inning.
ON THE MOUND: Haren pitched 61/3 innings and was charged with three runs and eight hits. The first two runs he allowed came on a first-inning home run by Paul Goldschmidt. Haren gave up another run in the fourth inning on a single by Martin Prado. Closer Kenley Jansen served up a solo home run to Prado, but collected his 19th save.
ROSTER MOVE: Utilityman Chone Figgins was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left quadriceps. With 19 walks in 194 plate appearances, Figgins has posted a .373 on-base percentage in 38 games. He was replaced on the active roster by infielder Carlos Triunfel, who was called up from triple-A Albuquerque for the second time this season. A former top prospect with the Seattle Mariners, the 24-year-old Triunfel was called up for an April 27 game against the Colorado Rockies, but didn’t play.
UP NEXT: Josh Beckett (4-3, 2.35) will face the Diamondbacks and Bronson Arroyo (6-4, 4.22) at Dodger Stadium at 1 p.m. On the air: SportsNet LA. Radio: 570, 1020 (Spanish).
