Loui Eriksson’s goal gives Stars key win against Predators

Loui Eriksson scored a go-ahead, power-play goal with 3:42 left to give the Dallas Stars a 3-2 victory Saturday and send the Nashville Predators to their fourth loss in a row.

While Shea Weber served a boarding penalty, Eriksson set up in front of the net and redirected newly acquired defenseman Alex Goligoski’s shot past Pekka Rinne for his 21st goal.

Earlier in the third period, Goligoski scored his first goal since he was acquired by the Stars from Pittsburgh on Monday.

Tom Wandell added a goal, and Kari Lehtonen made 25 saves for the Stars, who snapped their season-worst five-game losing streak Thursday at Detroit.

Dallas has won two in a row for the first time since Jan. 17-20, beating one of the teams the Stars are fighting for a playoff spot and stopping a slide that knocked them out of first place in the Pacific Division.

Now the Stars face four road games in a row, all against playoff contenders, starting Tuesday at Phoenix. They visit the Ducks on Friday and play the Kings on March 7.

Colin Wilson and Ryan Suter scored, David Legwand had two assists, and Rinne stopped 22 shots for the Predators, who had been shut out in their previous two games.
