What, me worry? Not Miguel Angel Jimenez at British Open

Miguel Angel Jimenez might have found the secret to dealing with stiff winds, dry greens and tough pin placements at the British Open.

Don’t worry.

Jimenez neared the finish of Friday’s play atop the leaderboard at 3-under. While other golfers have struggled at Muirfield this week, the Spaniard is obviously taking a different approach.

After the first round, Keegan Bradley spotted his colleague on the driving range, obviously relaxing.

Jimenez, who is also known to do an odd stretching routine before play, has said he would love to add a major to his resume, but he isn’t going to stress about it.

“If I don’t have a major in my career, it don’t mean you’re not a good player,” he told reporters after the first round. “Simply it’s a nice plus.”

At a tournament where Phil Mickelson and others have complained about the conditions, a “Que sera, sera” attitude might just work.

“I feel comfortable, and that’s the main thing,” Jimenez said. “If you feel comfortable with yourself ... feel happy with the golf course, hole some putts.”
