Tweet of the Day: “Can we dispense w/tales of Laker luxury tax woes w/new Time Warner deal about to bump local TV revenue $100 mill to $150 mill--annually?” --- MarkHeisler (NBA columnist Mark Heisler)

Rick Friedman Reader Comment of the Day: “At the professional level where everyone is talented, success is 80% mental. Bynum does not have the mental ability to be a consistently great player and he has no motivation to get better if the Lakers keep him and continue to coddle him. Time to let him be some other team’s frustration.

“He had some good games, but with his size and natural ability, it’s impossible for him not to do well at times. But he won’t be great until he grows up and there is absolutely no evidence that he is capable of growth. We could wait for him to mature and maybe he will by the time he’s 40 and his skills are gone. Please let him go and build the team around Kobe and other players who have the mental toughness and focus to bring the Lakers back. Bynum only brings them down.” -- rhetor1
