Lakers can’t even escape Dwight Howard in China
BEIJING -- The Lakers still can’t escape Dwight Howard even though they’re 6,000 miles from home.
Howard made an appearance here on behalf of Adidas this past summer, and many giant-size likenesses of him hover over an outdoor court next to MasterCard Arena, where the Lakers play Golden State in an exhibition game Tuesday.
The slogan plastered on the images: “All in for Dwight.”
And yes, one of the recreational players on the court in the accompanying photo wore Lakers purple and gold under the shots of Dwight in red and white.
The Lakers will have practiced at the arena three times before Tuesday’s game but their bus has been pulling into the loading dock way on the other side of the Dwightscape.
It’s best they keep coming and going that way. Really.
