Xavier Henry scored 33 points on Saturday night while on assignment with the D-Fenders.

The D-Fenders, however, fell to the Texas Legends, 130-108, at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo.

Henry, along with rookie Jordan Clarkson, made a quick NBA Development League appearance after playing with the Lakers on Friday night in a loss to the San Antonio Spurs. The pair will return to Staples Center on Sunday, when the Lakers host the Golden State Warriors.

Clarkson scored 28 points with five assists, while forward Roscoe Smith, who spent training camp with the Lakers, recorded a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

Guard Doron Lamb was the high scorer for the Legends with 23 points.

Henry has struggled to regain his form after knee, back and wrist injuries dating back to last season. On Saturday, he showed a glimpse of his old self, scoring 15 points in the third quarter alone.

Through seven appearances with the Lakers, Henry is averaging just 1.3 points a game. Clarkson has played in eight of the Lakers’ nine games, tallying 4.3 points in 11.4 minutes a night.

The D-Fenders fell to 0-2 on the season, which started Friday in Santa Cruz against the Warriors.
