Mets’ David Wright could be headed to DL
New York Mets third baseman David Wright has a herniated disk in his neck and could be headed to the disabled list.
Wright, 33, did not play Monday for the third consecutive day. He got an MRI exam and was given anti-inflammatory medicine over the weekend.
Wright was on the DL from April 15 to Aug. 24, 2015, after he strained his right hamstring and then developed spinal stenosis. He has a lengthy physical therapy routine he must go through before each game.
The veteran hit a home run in three games in a row last week. He is batting .226 with seven home runs, 14 runs batted in and 55 strikeouts in 137 at-bats.
