New York Yankees starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi will miss the remainder of this season and all of next year because of two tears in his elbow that require surgery.

Eovaldi, a former Dodger acquired by the Yankees from Miami in 2014, was 9-8 with a 4.76 ERA this year. He has a torn flexor tendon, and a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament necessitating his second Tommy John surgery. He can be a free agent after next season.
