With Hurricane Matthew drawing nearer, Central Florida became the latest college football team to reschedule a game this weekend.

UCF and Tulane agreed to postpone their Friday night game until Nov. 5, when both teams have an open date.

“Taking into account all the latest projections for Hurricane Matthew, we have to keep the safety of everyone involved in these events at the forefront of our decision-making,” said Daniel J. White, UCF’s athletic director.

Tulane Athletic Director Troy Dannen added: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who may affected by this hurricane.”

Charleston Southern and South Carolina State had previously postponed their games.

There were reports out Norfolk, Va., that Old Dominion would shift its Saturday kickoff against Massachusetts to Friday evening, though university administrators had yet to make a formal announcement.

Additional games throughout the Southeastern and Atlantic Coast conferences could be affected.
