Gunnar Bentz, 20, is a first-time Olympian who swims for the University of Georgia. He earned a gold medal by swimming a qualifying heat in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay. The business major hails from Athens, Ga. He said he started swimming at age 3 because “I wasn’t good at any other sports.”

U.S. swimmer Ryan Lochte started telling one story, but Brazilian Judge Keyla Blanc de Cnop said teammate James Feigen gave a different one.
