Aly Raisman’s father vs. the grumpiest man alive [Video]

&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;runtime:topic id=”PESPT0015843”&amp;gt;Aly Raisman&amp;lt;/runtime:topic&amp;gt; had quite a night Tuesday, first claiming a bronze medal on the balance beam in dramatic fashion and then winning the U.S. team’s first-ever gold medal in floor exercise.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;It was the kind of night that makes you want to stand up and cheer -- but, first, just make sure you’re not sitting in front of the meanest man on the planet when doing so. Raisman’s father, Rick, did not follow that simple rule of thumb when his daughter was in the midst of the floor performance of her life.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Both Rick and his wife, Lynn Faber, have become a sideshow in their own right during the London Games, taking the roles of nervous/supportive parents to unprecedented levels. All the leaning, twitching, jumping, yelling, etc. -- very amusing for the viewers at home, but without a doubt pretty darned annoying for anyone who has the misfortune of sitting anywhere near those two.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Still, it would take a pretty big grump to try to dampen someone’s enthusiasm during a gold-medal performance, even if he didn’t realize that person was the gymnast’s father. But that’s just what the guy sitting behind Rick Raisman did, telling the proud father to sit down after leaping to his feet during a particularly spectacular portion of his daughter’s routine.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;And the dude doesn’t even mellow after the performance is over. With both of Raisman’s parents now standing and cheering, the curmudgeon &amp;lt;a href=”https://deadspin.com/5932770/it-seems-everybody-loves-aly-raismans-parents-except-the-guy-who-had-to-sit-behind-them”&amp;gt;can be seen&amp;lt;/a&amp;gt; rolling his eyes, covering his face and shaking his head at them.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Ah, that Olympic spirit.
