Lindor’s single in 7th ends Royals’ no-hit bid vs Indians
Francisco Lindor reached on a bunt single against reliever Ryan Madson leading off the seventh inning, the first hit for the Cleveland Indians on Sunday against the Kansas City Royals.
Chris Young, making his first start since July 28 after nearly two months in the bullpen, pitched five hitless innings Sunday. He allowed one walk, struck out two and threw 68 pitches.
Danny Duffy struck out two in a perfect sixth for the Royals, who already have clinched their first division title in 30 years.
Lindor bunted on Madson’s first pitch.
Kansas City leads 2-0.
