On July 26, 2009, Rickey Henderson was inducted to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He holds the MLB records for career stolen bases, lead-off home runs, runs scored and unintentional walks. Throughout his career he played for nine major league teams and considered returning to play several times after his retirement. “I love the game of baseball,” Henderson told Craig Muder of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, “and that’s why it was so hard for me to walk away.”
