Why stop there, Bills fans? Bring on the bubonic plague!

“We want Brady!” the Buffalo faithful chanted during their team’s opening 27-14 beatdown of the Colts at the Ralph, in reference to Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against New England.

Better be careful what you ask for: Patriots QB Tom Brady is 23-3 all-time with 58 TD passes and a 101.2 passer rating playing against Buffalo.

That’s a Hefty fine

The NFL fined Bengals CB Pacman Jones $35,000 for ripping off Raider rookie Amari Cooper’s helmet and then slamming Cooper’s head onto it.

In other words, time to make it rain again, Pacman as in 35 large.

Bird in the Hand Dept.

Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul reportedly underwent yet another procedure on his fireworks-mangled hand this time on his middle finger.

Or as they call it in New York, the fan equivalent of Tommy John surgery.

Pick a letter

The phrase “Mind your P’s and Q’s” certainly takes on a whole new meaning when you’re playing fantasy football.

Beginner’s pluck

Running back Karlos Williams scored touchdowns on his first carry in college (65 yards for Florida State) and in the NFL (26 yards for the Bills).

Fresh air

Patriots employees John Jastremski and Jim McNally, upon learning their DeflateGate bans had been lifted, immediately exclaimed: “We’re pumped!”

(OK, just kidding.)

Next!

The Rockies and Dodgers broke MLB records by using 58 players including 24 pitchers during Colorado’s 16-inning win Tuesday.

In fact, it got so unwieldy you couldn’t tell the players without two scorecards.

Quote marks

Janice Hough of LeftCoastSportsBabe.com, after Marshawn Lynch’s mother posted that Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell is “the worst play-caller ever” and should be fired: “Beginning to see why Lynch keeps his mouth shut.”

Joe Bryant of FootballGuys.com, on the ambience of Oakland’s multi-tenant O.co Coliseum: “You know its Raider football in September when it’s first-and-10 from third base.”

Comedy writer Tim Hunter, on what his knees have in common with former presidential candidate Rick Perry: “They both decided to give up running.”

Bills coach Rex Ryan, to reporters, when asked if it’s possible for one player to cover Pats TE Rob Gronkowski: “Yeah, he’d have to look like King Kong.”

Just call him Old Yeller

Judges at the 47th annual National Hollering Contest in Spivey’s Corner, N.C., heard quite the tirade from Florida football coach Jim McElwain.

Even more impressive, McElwain was standing on a sideline in Gainesville at the time.
