Update: This game, originally scheduled for Saturday but moved up a day, is the only regular-season meeting between these interconference rivals. In their lone match last year, Sporting Kansas City won, 4-0, in Kansas City. Sporting Kansas City this year is second in the Eastern Conference but the club has lost four consecutive games, most recently a 2-1 loss to the New York Red Bulls on Saturday. Chivas USA, last in the Western Conference, has gone nine consecutive games without a win (eight losses and one tie) and is coming off a 3-0 loss to the Columbus Crew on Sunday.
