Podcast: Would you trade Yasiel Puig for Yordano Ventura?

Share

Welcome to another edition of Sportswriters Blues.

Andy McCullough covers the Dodgers. Pedro Moura covers the Angels. We created the podcast to talk about those teams and other topics we disagree about, mostly related to sports.

In case you'd like to read along as you listen, here are a few of the topics covered in this podcast:

Angels GM Billy Eppler is going for the “best available talent”

Here’s what Angels GM said about the draft: “I don’t focus on the rankings. I’m just always thirsty for talent, no matter where we’re rated. If you hold to that commandment, you don’t worry about the rest of it.” Read more here.

We get some great questions on Twitter

But really, how do sports fans keep up with everything? It’s a lot of work to stay knowledgeable on baseball and keep a job. We’re both impressed. And speaking of interesting questions:

Would you trade Yasiel Puig for Yordano Ventura?

Pedro’s still betting on Puig (who may be rejoining the Dodgers on June 20, by the way). Andy points out that Ventura has had a few instances of being difficult to believe with over the years.

What should you eat in New York?

Pedro is enjoying the Halal spots. Andy, on the other hand: “Yeah, I basically stick to pizza and bodega egg sandwiches.”

Stephen King is an amazing writer.

Laughing at Andy for reading Stephen King was Pedro’s “18th biggest mistake this year.”

Andy has changed his opinion on the Dodgers:

“It's hard to hit when your offense legitimately does not show up two to three nights a week.”

Follow Andy on Twitter @McCulloughTimes, and Pedro @pedromouraWe’ll be back next week with our take on what's happening with the Dodgers and Angels, and the world of sports in general. Don't miss it.
