Gronkowski brothers pitch ‘The Gronks,’ a cartoon about themselves

The Gronkowski brothers never cease to amuse themselves.

Like many other semi-famous people these days, New England Patriots tight end Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski and his four male siblings think their hilarious high jinks would make for a terrific TV show.

Only their show would have a twist that sounds kind of interesting or at least somewhat amusing in concept -- it would be animated.

The show already has the perfect cartoon name: “The Gronks,” of course.

The real-life Gronks -- Rob, a two-time Pro Bowler and the only actual celebrity of the bunch; minor league baseball player Gordy Jr.; Dan, who played for four NFL teams from 2009 to 2011; Chris, who played for three NFL teams from 2010 to 2012; and youngest brother Glenn -- already have a promotional video for their show, featuring mainly live-action clips that introduces the brothers and their dad, Gordy, a.k.a. Papa Gronk.

According to Deadspin, which first broke the story and posted the video (language warning), the idea is already being shopped by the family’s manager but will be given a heavy push during the off-season, when the all of the Gronks can be on hand for pitch meetings.

What TV executive wouldn’t want his or her office invaded by five jocks and their proud father?

Sure, pro athletes have been given their own animated series before -- remember “Pro Stars,” featuring Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky and Bo Jackson as crime fighters? And so have famous brothers -- who could forget the amazing “Jackson 5” cartoon?

But those were so wholesome. Judging from the promo piece, “The Gronks” has content that a more adult audience might enjoy -- Viagra jokes, grown men throwing snowballs at moving vehicles and trying to smash each other’s heads into windows, lots of booze and curse words, etc.

Hey, we said “adult,” not necessarily “mature.”
