J.J. Watt is almost as cool as Zack Morris from ‘Saved By the Bell’

J.J. Watt is no Zack Morris.

Sure, the Houston Texans star defensive end is probably the coolest, most popular guy pretty much everywhere he goes, just like the main character of the ever-popular 1990s teen sitcom "Saved By the Bell." And, you know, Watt is the reigning NFL defensive player of the year and has made three straight Pro Bowls.

But can he stop time? Does he have a geeky sidekick? Where is the humongous, box-shaped cellphone? And there's no chance he could ever get the attention of Bayside's head cheerleader and everyone's dream girl, Kelly Kapowski.

What a dweeb. Right?

Well, maybe not. Mario Lopez, who played A.C. Slater on "SBTB" and now hosts TV's "Extra," was on hand at NRG Stadium on Sunday before the Texans' game against Tampa Bay as Houston’s “Home Field Advantage Captain.” He posted a photo of himself with Watt on Instagram, along with the caption: "Taught @JJWatt how to properly tackle. Lil guy learned a lot. Quick study. Might have a future in this league."

After the 19-9 win over Tampa Bay -- Houston's first victory of the season -- Watt tweeted the photo, along with more than one "SBTB" reference.

Note the hashtag. Pretty smooth, not unlike something Morris would have come up with.

And just like Zack back in the day, Watt got his girl. Actress Tiffani Thiessen, who played Kapowski, posted a photo of herself holding up a copy of Men's Health magazine featuring a shirtless Watt on the cover.

Not too shabby ... for a dweeb.
