Trade rumors begin: Injured Troy Tulowitzki goes to a Yankees game

Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, on the disabled list because of a thigh injury, went to Philadelphia over the weekend to get a second opinion on his injury. Nothing wrong with that. But what he did while there has caused a lot of speculation: He drove to Yankee Stadium and took in the Yankees-Blue Jays game Sunday.
Speculation immediately began that the Rockies are on the verge of trading him to the Yankees, since Tulowitzki has never made a secret of his desire to one day play in New York. And with Derek Jeter retiring after the season, the Yankees will have a hole at short to fill.
Tulowitzki dismissed the speculation as just that, however.
“It’s a short drive from Philly. I’m with my family. I wanted to see Jeter play one more time,” Tulowitzki told the Denver Post.
Still though, a deal makes sense, and it’s not every day you see a player in the stands watching an opposing team play.
