Poll: Should the Golden State Warriors go for the NBA wins record or rest up for the playoffs?

The Golden State Warriors are three wins away from making NBA history.

But after that, they will still need 16 more victories over the course of two months or so to clinch a second straight championship.

And that has Coach Steve Kerr thinking the final three regular-season games -- at Memphis on Saturday, at San Antonio on Sunday and at home against the Grizzlies on Wednesday -- might be a good opportunity to rest some players, even if that means his team ends up not passing the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls for the all-time best single season record.

Those Bulls finished at 72-10. With a 112-101 win over the Spurs on Thursday night, the Warriors (70-9) became only the second team in league history to win 70 games. They also clinched the top seed in the Western Conference.

"We are going to talk about it tomorrow," Kerr said after the game. "We've been putting it off for as long as we were able to, which was until we got the 1-seed. Now that we have that, I'm inclined to give some guys some rest if they need it, but I've sort of made a pact with the guys that if they are not banged up and they are not tired and if they want to go for this record or whatever then -- so we've got to talk."

That conversation may or may not have happened already, but several Golden State players indicated through their comments Wednesday night just how that might go.

Guard Klay Thompson told ESPN, "I'm not going to rest."

He also told reporters: "I'm only 26. When I'm 36, I'll be looking to rest more."

Forward Draymond Green said: “Most of the guys in the locker room are saying, `We're right here, we've put all this effort into it, let's go for it.' "

Reigning league MVP Stephen Curry added, "With three games left and 73 still there, it's obviously a lot to play for."

What do you think? Should the Warriors go for the record or save their strength for the playoffs?
