UCLA’s 2016 recruiting class gained momentum Friday, less than a week before signing day on Feb. 3, when receiver Damian Alloway announced his commitment to the Bruins in a video produced by Bleacher Report.
A product of Summit High in Fontana, Alloway, 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, is considered among the top-rated receivers in California by Scout.
He chose UCLA instead of Notre Dame, where he made an official visit in November. Alloway was scheduled to make an official visit to UCLA this weekend, but said in a tweet Thursday that he would no longer make the trip.
Alloway is the fifth receiver to commit to UCLA’s 2016 class, joining Theo Howard from Westlake, Dymond Lee from Chaminade in West Hills, Demetric Felton from Great Oak in Temecula and Darian Owens from Clovis West in Fresno.
UCLA’s recruiting class, with 23 commitments, is ranked 10th in the country and No. 1 in the Pac-12 Conference by Scout.
