The day gets better for UCLA.

Soso Jamabo, a running back from Plano (Texas) West High, signed with UCLA after appearing on ESPNU on Wednesday morning.

Jamabo, who is 6 feet 2, 205 pounds, was ranked first among running backs by Scout.com and fourth by Rivals.com. His ample abilities were on display in a game against Garland (Texas) Sachse this season. Jamabo finished with 484 yards rushing and six touchdowns.

He was named All-State 6A after rushing for 2,279 yards and scoring 44 touchdowns. He joins Josh Rosen, considered by many to be one of the top quarterbacks in the nation, and Chris Clark, regarded as one of the top tight ends in the country, in Westwood.

“They got something great going,” Jamabo said about UCLA on ESPNU. “They got the No. 1 quarterback. They got the No. 1 tight end. Now they got the No. 1 running back.”

Jamabo said that he had developed a relationship with Rosen via text messages.

Jamabo joins a crowded backfield. The Bruins return Paul Perkins, who led the Pac-12 with 1,575 yards rushing, Nate Starks and Craig Lee.

On whether he will remain a running back, Jamabo said, “I want to be at next level, whether as a receiver or a running back.”
