USC VS. NEW ORLEANS

When: Tuesday, 6 p.m. PST.

Where: Galen Center.

On the air: TV: Pac-12 Networks; Radio: 710.

Update: After USC pulled off a 65-63 road victory last week over Texas A&M, which reached the regional semifinals of the NCAA tournament last season, Aggies Coach Billy Kennedy said he thought USC looked like a tournament team. Freshman point guard De’Anthony Melton hit an important three-pointer with about two minutes left and then stole the ball with 12 seconds remaining to give USC the win.

Melton finished with eight points and three steals. Forward Chimezie Metu led USC (3-0) with 14 points, and shooting guard Elijah Stewart recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Friday’s game also saw the return of Bennie Boatwright, who had missed USC’s first two games with back spasms. Boatwright scored only nine points, but he played 31 minutes.

New Orleans (1-2) defeated Division-III LaGrange College in its opener before losing to Oklahoma State and Tulsa. The Privateers finished ninth in the Southland Conference last season.
