USC freshmen preview: Ykili Ross listed at three positions

This month we are previewing each USC freshman joining the team in training camp.

Height: 6 feet 2

Weight: 185 pounds

High school: Riverside Poly

Hometown: Riverside

High school: Ross starred as a receiver, defensive back and kick returner. He caught 95 passes, 27 for touchdowns, during his final two seasons. He intercepted seven passes during his three-year career.

USC defensive back breakdown: USC’s roster lists Ross as a safety, cornerback and wide receiver. Sophomore John Plattenburg and junior Leon McQuay started at safety in 2014. Sophomore Chris Hawkins has moved from cornerback to safety. Senior Kevon Seymour and sophomore Adoree’ Jackson are returning starters at cornerback and freshman Iman Marshall is expected to push for immediate playing time.
