Ricky Town, who left USC less than two weeks into training camp, is transferring to Arkansas, ESPN.com reported.

“It was hard,” Town told ESPN. “It wasn’t an easy decision. It was close to home. But ultimately my family and friends supported my decision, and that’s what’s important to me.”

Town graduated early from Ventura St. Bonaventure High and enrolled at USC in January so he could participate in spring practice.

He was part of a 2015 recruiting class that also included former San Clemente High standout Sam Darnold, who has impressed coaches and teammates through the first two weeks of training camp.

Town’s departure left USC with a quarterback corps that includes fifth-year senior Cody Kessler, third-year sophomore Max Browne and Darnold.

Redshirt freshman Jalen Greene played quarterback last season but has moved to receiver. Connor Sullivan, the Trojans’ holder for place-kicks, also has taken practice reps.

Town will redshirt this season.
