Behind the scenes: Big Bear Lake fashion shoot

The Los Angeles Times Image team had planned to shoot photographs of winter fashions outdoors in a snowy winter wonderland. On Jan. 4, however, Mother Nature sent torrential rain instead of delicate snow, and the whole operation -- 10 people, eight garment bags, two rolling racks, five bags of boots and accessories -- moved indoors.

Magsaysay had to balance the outerwear with lighter pieces that didn’t look out of place indoors and still appeared appropriately warm for the theme of the presentation. (Jamie Rector / For The Times)
