Behind the scenes: Big Bear Lake fashion shoot

The Los Angeles Times Image team had planned to shoot photographs of winter fashions outdoors in a snowy winter wonderland. On Jan. 4, however, Mother Nature sent torrential rain instead of delicate snow, and the whole operation -- 10 people, eight garment bags, two rolling racks, five bags of boots and accessories -- moved indoors. Stylist Melissa Magsaysay, left, and photographer Liz Baylen work with the models. Baylen designed a lighting scheme that brightened up the indoor surroundings, even though the skies stayed dark.
