While everyone’s wondering about the impact Tropical Storm Isaac may have on the Republican National Convention next week, some airlines are making preparations now for the foul weather by waiving change and cancellation fees for ticketed travelers to and from the Caribbean.

The storm on Thursday hit Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and the National Hurricane Center issued a hurricane warning for the south coast of the Dominican Republic and Haiti. So far, Florida destinations aren’t affected by the airline action.

Passengers who have tickets to go to the area should check with their airline by phone or online for status updates, and keep an eye on weather reports too. Here are some sample airlines and their policies.
