‘The greatest gift’: Waymakers’ Laguna Beach Youth Shelter celebrates 40 years

Forty years after opening, the Laguna Beach Youth Shelter has made a way for itself. The shelter, operated by the nonprofit Waymakers, began as a place for homeless and runaway youths. Today, it serves up to six young people at a time who suffer from mental health issues that have led to self-harm.

Laguna study paints a portrait of a city in need of places for artists to live and work

The Laguna Beach City Council will review an arts market study looking at the need for creative spaces and housing in the city. Other business includes a presentation on the Fire Department's strategic plan and a review of an application for a new tattoo parlor.
