If you are working in a major metropolis, chances are you are commuting to work every day. Taking the train or bus helps out the environment, but it can get very expensive depending on where you are commuting to.

A report by Deutsche Bank analyzed the cost of living and compared costs among the largest cities around the world. The report sourced prices from Expatistan, a site that tracks cost-of-living expenses, for a “monthly ticket public transport” in numerous cities.

Here are the 16 most expensive cities in the world for commuting via public transportation each month.
