Fitness cruise on Danube River offers cycling, core training, hikes and more

Bike along the Danube River through the Wachau Valley, Austria, on an AmaWaterways wellness cruise.

Go rolling on the river with AmaWaterways in 2018, when the company begins offering a new wellness program that incorporates fitness, including biking, into its activity schedule.

The program features morning stretches, jogging, yoga, cardio/core strengthening, resistance band workouts and circuit training.

Passengers can also take part in six guided bike tours and two hiking excursions. The activities include a guided bike tour in Austria from Melk to Durnstein or a guided hike to the Veste Oberhaus fortress in Passau, Germany, for panoramic views overlooking three rivers.

Activities are complemented by discussion groups with a focus on healthy eating and relaxation techniques.
