What are you doing this weekend? Toasting Big Bear’s Oktoberfest

If you couldn’t make it to Munich, Germany, this year for the world’s largest Oktoberfest (which ends Oct. 6), you need only go as far as Big Bear Lake to party at the city’s annual Bavarian beer bust. The 43-year-old event, a salute to German heritage, draws more than 25,000 participants. Merrymakers will down about 500 kegs of beer during the festival, which runs weekends through Oct. 26.--Rosemary McClure
