Learn about Yellowstone’s four-footed denizens during a winter program

Share

Yellowstone National Park is an animal lover’s paradise, offering some of the best wildlife viewing in the Lower 48 states. Learn more about the park’s famous denizens, including buffalo, elk, bears and wolves, during a two-day, two-night winter program.

The guided Yellowstone Assn. Institute workshop, called Interpreting Wildlife Signs, helps reveal animal behavior as the days get longer and warmer and is held at the organization’s Lamar Valley Buffalo Ranch Field Campus in the northeastern section of the park. Among other things, participants learn to spot signs in snow that indicate animals’ food choices, territories, travels and activity patterns.

Dates: Feb. 27-29

Price: $353 per person, including naturalist/guide and in-park transportation. Simple shared log cabins are available for $36 per person per night, and private cabins for $85 per cabin per night. Seminar participants are responsible for bringing and preparing their own food. The ranch’s bunkhouse provides a kitchen, dining area and classrooms. Transportation to the Buffalo Ranch is not included.
