There’s so much to do food-wise in Santa Barbara. Everyone knows about the vineyards, but what about that coffee farm and olive grove? The Santa Barbara Food & Wine Weekend in June showcases all three and honors the city’s most fascinating and famous foodie, Julia Child.

The idea is to taste, cook, learn, sip and listen -- to authors and chefs, to vintners and growers -- during the first weekend in June. Fifteen events come together at the Bacara Resort & Spa at 8301 Hollister Ave. in Goleta.

The weekend begins June 6 with wine tastings from 16 vineyards and a screening of “Kitchen Wisdom,” a compilation of Child’s TV spots and her guest interviews made by her director and producer Geoffrey Drummond.

Other activities include:

--A wine & chocolate tasting, and screening of the film “Le Chef”
--Artisan bread baking with Bob Oswaks of Bob’s Well Bread
--A tour of the coffee farm Good Land Organics
--An olive oil cooking class with Global Gardens founder Theodora Stephan
--Tastings from chefs, restaurants and wineries around Santa Barbara County
--Barbecue with Frank Ostini of the famed Hitching Post II (made famous in the film “Sideways”)

Check the master schedule for prices of each event, or buy the All Access pass good for all three days for $499. Part of the proceeds from the weekend event go to the Julia Child Foundation.

For those who want to stay over, the resort offers a weekend package that adds tickets to a room stay.

When: The Food & Wine Weekend runs from June 6-8.

Price: The Bacara weekend package starts at $515 a night. It includes a minimum two-night stay (June 6 and 7), two tickets to the opening reception and “Kitchen Wisdom,” two tickets to the Sunday Neighborhood Tasting and valet parking. Transportation to and from Santa Barbara and individual sessions are extra.
