The newly opened Capital Wheel at the National Harbor in Maryland whisks visitors 180 feet above the Potomac River where they can see the White House, the Washington Monument and other landmarks from on high.

Now Aloft Washington National Harbor Hotel offers a package that includes two VIP tickets to ride the Capital Wheel.

The deal: Aloft prices for the Capital Wheel Package start at $229 a night plus tax. The package comes with the VIP passes (valued at $50 each), overnight parking with in-and-out privileges ($13 a night) and a $20 food and beverage credit. Members of the Starwood Preferred Guest loyalty program earn 750 bonus points.

The Capital Wheel, a giant Ferris wheel with enclosed capsules, opened on the waterfront in late May and aims to remain open year round. It’s part of a complex at National Harbor that includes dining, boating, shopping and the National Children’s Museum.

When: The offer is good through Sept. 30.

Tested: I checked online and found room availability in July starting at $237 for a midweek stay (July 6-8) and $337 for a weekend stay (July 11-13); prices exclude tax.

If you were to price this separately, the same room July 6-8 without the package starts at $139 a night. Add $100 for two Capital Wheel tickets, $13 a night for parking and $20 credit, and you come out ahead with the package.
