Aviator Laptop Stand: A lift for your laptop

Share
Chicago Tribune Staff Writer

Name: Aviator Laptop Stand

What it is: Plastic stand for holding a laptop computer on an airline tray table

How it works: Snap together the black plastic cross-sections and you have a sturdy, stable stand that hooks onto the tray table, holding your computer at a slight tilt for easier typing and viewing. Designed to ease neck and back strain, it also keeps your laptop cool by providing airflow between it and the tray table.

The good: The rugged device, with rubber strips and notches on the base, holds your laptop securely to the tray table or most any slippery table. Better yet, off the plane it’s a portable means of keeping both your laptop and your legs from overheating if you regularly work with your computer propped on your legs.

The bad: Thanks to the sturdy design, it can feel a bit big to fit into a very slim laptop case, though it easily dismantles to lie flat.
