Orchid show blooms in New York

The 27th New York International Orchid Show is from April 18 to 22 at Rockefeller Center, between 49th and 50th streets and Fifth and 6th avenues, New York; (212) 332-6553, www.gnyos.org.
An international exhibition, with 26 major trophies awarded, exhibits of ikebana, 50,000-plus orchids, a fragrance competition, tours led by orchid experts, lectures and workshops.
Admission: $5 for exhibit areas, 12 and younger free.
