Tennessee: World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest

About 250 teams go whole hog (or shoulder or ribs) in the annual pork barbecue cook-off. Visitors can join the Cooker’s Caravan for a guided walk or become People’s Choice judges.
When, where: May 17 to 19, Tom Lee Park, Riverside Drive, downtown Memphis
Admission: $7, children 6 and younger free; Cooker’s Caravan is free; People’s Choice, separate $3 fee, includes five samples of barbecue.
