Extreme Las Vegas cocktails

Las Vegas
Like most things in over-the-top Las Vegas, the cocktails are a phenomenon that other cities would find tough to match. Fresh from Frankenstein’s laboratory -- make that Quark’s Bar at the Las Vegas Hilton -- comes the Warp Core Breach. The $29.50 drink has enough punch to tank two grown men with 10 ounces of liquor from five different-flavored rums, Razzmatazz and fruit juices. And be sure to heed the waiter’s warning: Do not dip your fingers into the drink. The ice used to chill it is the dry kind that comes with lots of bite. (Las Vegas Hilton)

The quaff of royals? At $1,000 a drink, quite possibly. BOA’s King Richard’s Pride consists of Hennessy Richard, Dom Perignon Rosé 1996 and Chambord Liqueur Royale de France, splashes of lime and cranberry juices and one orange slice, all served in a keepsake Baccarat cocktail glass. Find it, fittingly, at the Forum Shops at Caesars. (BOA)

For the perfect Ménage a Trois, Cristal Rosé, Hennessy Ellipse and Grand Marnier Cent-cinquantenaire are combined with 23-karat gold flakes and liquid gold syrup. At Tryst, the $3,000 libation is sipped through a golden straw studded with a 9-point diamond -- yours to keep. (Tryst)

At the Mirage, LOVE comes in the form of a 40-ounce cocktail served in a plastic cup imprinted with shadow images of the boys from Liverpool and sipped between gasps of awe at the Cirque du Soleil show (about $10). The drinks are named after Beatles songs. How fab! (Mirage Las Vegas)
